The Story

After 20 years in restaurants and fine wine, Tommy Powers was approached by Dan Halfman to create an original Web-only show that will provide the public with an insider’s perspective on the food and wine industry.

The wide screen, high definition show is the first of it's kind since historically, the restaurant and wine industries have been covered by outsiders and critics.

Through Gastrotommy, Powers introduces the audience to the chefs, winemakers and sommeliers that are shaping today’s world of gastronomy. Rest assured, the name 'Gastrotommy' is meant to diminish any perceptions of an elitist approach. Simply think of Tommy as an old friend that can guide you through this enchanting, but often misrepresented world.

Each episode has a celebrity guest, provides insider details on a new culinary topic, and ultimately provides the audience with innovative food and beverage pairings. Paid members are able to buy wine and food at a discount and have exclusive access to rare bottles from the finest purveyors in the marketplace, worldwide.

The show is currently in production. We have shot seven shows in Los Angeles/Santa Barbara and five in Chicago. We are scheduling our San Francisco/Napa/Sonoma shoots for late January, New York in February and New Orleans in May.You can stay tuned via our food and wine blog, Facebook, and Twitter.
